Drape & Lighting and The Springs, Denton

Ceiling Swag

Ceiling Drape, draped wall & stage, pinspots on cake at Springs Denton by Randy Ro Entertainment

We are typically asked to take pretty ballrooms and make them prettier!  The Springs in Denton is one of our favorite locations to work, not only because it’s an amazing place to get married and a huge value for the bride, it’s also one of the closest venues to our home.  It’s a perfect canvas for our services.  The fact that the management are some of the nicest people in the industry is beside the point.

In the photo above we’ve added ceiling swag, sometimes called spider drape, fabric swag, you name it, we’ve heard it.  Frequently we add twinkle lights to the drape, as well.  While it really doesn’t need the additional lighting, some brides like it, so, we do to0!

You’ll notice the cake was featured smack dab in the middle of the room.  Most Dallas lighting companies would put one light on this cake, if any.  Here’s the reason this cake pops so well in the photos and after the lights went down.  Randy Ro’s team did what we call 360 pin spotting.  Where ever you stand in the room and from any perspective the photographer wants to take your photo, the cake will pop in the background. We like to think you’ve spent a bunch on your cake and you should be able to see it in the photos.  (more on this in another post concerning your florals!)

If you are getting married at any of the Springs there are things we can do to enhance the room.  Some couples use everything we do, some Springs couples use drape & lighting, and some use only one service (can you say photo booth?)  Either way we are always excited to bring them into our family of happy clients.

Best to you!

Dallas Wedding Drape, Ceiling & Chandeliers!

Dallas Wedding Drape is what keeps us busy most of the week.  Room transformations are always high on our list of fun projects!  Some venues, while already fabulous, are also perfect blank slates to decorate!  The Windsor at Hebron Park in Carrolton is one of them.  It’s an awesome all in one wedding venue.  It has a beautiful chapel and, after you and your fiance tie the knot, your guests only have to walk a down the hall for cocktail hour.  The ballroom is one of our favorites to DJ and do lighting.  The walls are perfect for up lighting or wall wash.  The light color displays the lighting perfectly and there is a perfect wall for a monogram, break out, or any lighting design you or our Randy Ro lighting and wedding design experts can come up with (in this case, the very cool, Double Happiness sign).  Here is a photo from a recent wedding we did there for Wenly + Sean, with wedding planner, Christy Record – PS, I Love You, Hiram Trillo, Candlelight Films, and Windsor coordinator, Laura Ingram.Draping & Lighting by Randy Ro Weddings

Elegant Draping and Lighting for Dallas Weddings

It’s no secret that one of our favorite venues in DFW is the Ruthe Jackson Center in Grand Prairie!  Just about any week of the year, we are draping, lighting, DJing, videoing, providing photo booths, doing a slow motion video booth, providing “Dancing on a Cloud” for a couples first dance, pin spotting the cake, okay, enough already, the list is long!  It’s a perfect fit for us because RJC is one of the more progressive venues around.  Take a look at their Pinterest page and you can see the caliber of events they do.  We owe so much to Cheryl Allgood & Chip Nami!  Without Cheryl’s constant question, “Can you do this?”, we wouldn’t be the top company for elegant draping and lighting for Dallas Weddings!  The answer is always, “Yes, Cheryl, we can do that.”  Then we go figure out how!

Check out this photo by rock star photographer, Jim Rode!  Floral design by another rock star, Kate Foley!   Have you ever seen a floral arrangement that long?  (a trick to pin spot!)  Of course, the lovely draping is from Randy Ro!  Hand picked, custom fabrics, always!  Fire retardant, always. (don’t let the fire marshall make you take the drape down).  Crystal beading, not always, it’s personalized to you.  Chandeliers, by request!  Multiple chandeliers, sure, can do!  Why not, it’s your wedding!

Cafe Lighting Fort Worth

We had the pleasure of being the MC/DJ for Kara & Uriel’s reception at Stockyards Station in Fort Worth.  Kara wanted a lot of cafe lighting and we provided it.  She thought it was fabulous!

Cafe Lighting is one of our most popular lighting options right now.  We’ve provided it the Dallas Arboretum, Ashton Depot, Aristide, and many other private wedding venues in North Texas.  We can add it to your wedding, as well.

Draping Dallas, one venue at a time!

We are fortunate to be the first call draping company in Dallas for many DFW venues.  One of our favorites is the Ruthe Jackson Center (RJC) in Grand Prairie!  Pick a weekend and we are probably adding ceremony drape and lighting.  RJC is a wonderful venue if you like the choice of an indoor or outdoor ceremony in Dallas or Fort Worth.  The garden and gazebo are stunning!  Which style drape do you prefer?

Randy Ro continues it’s goal of draping Dallas, one venue at a time!  Let’s visit about your wedding!

Draping is one of the best ways to upscale a wedding.  There are a few key points to remember when hiring a drape company in Dallas.  First, all fabric must be flame retardant.  You don’t want the fire marshall asking you to take the drape down minutes before your ceremony.  Second, it must be set up on a professional schedule.  Having guests arriving while ladders and workers are still setting up is awkward.  Most draping companies will have a staff that is working all day and can accommodate an early set up that leaves plenty of time.  Last, it’s important that your draping company works as a team with your other vendors.  Sometimes the florist may add flowers the draping.  It’s a good idea that there is communication in advance of your wedding day.

Bouquet Toss Songs Top 50

Excitement during bouquet toss

Bouquet Toss Song selection is important at an amazing wedding reception! An experienced MC/DJ will make sure everyone is ready (including your photographer) and that you actually have the bouquet before announcing it.  An inexperienced DJ, well, not so much!  On the subject of vendors, we highly recommend that you have a Wedding Planner.  They will save you money, help get you the best vendors, and help take the stress out of your day.  Your venue may have a coordinator but that is different than having a planner.

The bouquet toss is still popular at most weddings.  If there are only a few single ladies in attendance, sometimes the bride will honor someone by presenting it to them.   Here are the Bouquet Toss Top 50 songs as compiled nationwide by DJ Intelligence.  I believe we’ve played every song here for the bouquet toss except #49 (doesn’t have enough energy).  In the case of #3, we have a great edited version!

Aves Photography = Awesome

We love working with Photographers, Lauren & Will Aves, not only cause they are fun to be with, because we know we are going to get amazing photos from the wedding!  We’re lucky enough to work several weddings a year with them.   We highly recommend Aves to any brides looking for their photographer.  I’ve also said this many times,  Lauren Aves is the best wedding writer I know!  Always new and always interesting.  Not really sure how she does it.  We recently booked a bride that had been reading Lauren’s blog for about 4 years.  When she got engaged, Aves was the first thing she booked.  (Okay, maybe the Piazza, Aves, then us)  Here is a link to Aves Photography Blog.

In March we provided Master of Ceremony and DJ for Meredith and Chad’s wedding at the Piazza in the Village in Colleyville, Texas.   Top vendor list included, Aves Photography, Kristen Knight from Shenanigans, Lisa Stiles, Opulent Cakes, and Sonny Gann, from LoveNotes!  The Piazza is a wonderful venue to work and you know everything is going to be great every time.  It is very popular so go see it in person and book early if you’d like to get married there.

Speaking of Aves, here is a review of Randy Ro Entertainment from them:

“Reception Music/DJ – Randy Ro Entertainment

(Randy is the BEST!!!! Enough said. He keeps everyone dancing all night, and is 100% fabulously awesome! He’s one of the reasons you should consider a DJ instead of a band, for real {Not that we don’t love bands, because we do. But if it’s up in the air or you can’t decide, you should def check out Randy first to see what kind of entertainment would fit your party the best. The dancing is what makes the party fun.} We love you Randy!!)”

We love Aves!

Fort Worth Wedding Lighting, Drape, Decor at Fort Worth Hilton – Review

A fabulous review of our  Fort Worth lighting, drape, & decor for a wedding with planner Ebony Peoples and Shelly Binion from the Fort Worth Hilton.   Lovely bride, Teshia Pitts left this review on Wedding Wire!
“The lighting provided by Randy Ro was gorgeous! It totally transformed the room. Randy and his wife were great to work with and very flexible. Great job!”
Wedding: 06/29/2013
Randy’s Review:  Rockstar Planner, Ebony Peoples, was a pleasure to work with!  One of most detailed and awesome wedding planners in Dallas/Fort Worth, Ebony set a relaxed tone for a very quick room flip after the ceremony!  If you want a stress free wedding it’s nice to have a planner that doesn’t get stressed!  We were able to help transform the ballroom at the Hilton with uplighting, pin spotting the centerpieces, pin spotting the cakes, and projecting an Edwardian “L” onto the wall.  The nice thing about putting the monogram on the wall is that it shows up in photographs during the entire evening.  As always, the reason we were there is because of the couple, Teshia and Cornelius!  We are so lucky to get to do what we do!  I happened to stop by right before the ceremony and saw Teshia and her Dad (who was looking great in his military uniform) standing together, waiting to walk down the aisle.  I thought back to when I first met Teshia at our Colleyville office and she talk about Cornelius and her Dad and what she wanted for the wedding & reception.  It was great to see such an amazing event happening the way she envisioned!

Fort Worth Wedding DJ

Your guests are standing, cheering as you enter your reception!  You’ve just married your best friend and now it’s time for the party.  You’ve planned the most amazing wedding reception with your Fort Worth Wedding DJ!  Your DFW Wedding Venue  looks amazing with an amazing design of florals, Dallas lighting &  drape, linens, and the energy of your family and friends!   First, you’ll want to have your first dance as the new Mr. & Mrs!  A very nice flow for the evening is to do the Grand Entrance and go straight to your First
Dance.  (Traditionally it opens the dance floor for anyone that might want to dance before the  open dancing starts and it gets it out of the way in case you are nervous about it.  You’ll be able to enjoy the rest of your reception with out the pressure of an upcoming  performance.
What kind of song would you like to dance to for your First Dance?  Your Fort Worth Wedding DJ can help you select the right song, but remember, this is your wedding, dance to the song that means the most to you.  Usually there is a song that  you may have danced to on your first date or that you both like when it comes on the radio.  The other possibility is to go for the entertainment value and break out into something crazy!  You can start with a slow song, scratch it out, and go into a fun choreographed segment.  This can be just the two of you or you can bring in the wedding party in flash mob fashion. Either way, your guests will love it, feel totally entertained, and wonder what is coming next!
For couples that may be too shy for anything crazy and want a great picture, we suggest the Dancing on a Cloud First Dance.  You still pick your favorite song.  A few moments after you begin the dance floor will fill with a white cloud that you’ll be dancing in the middle of.  It’s an amazing picture and “Wow Factor” for your guests.  You didn’t have to choreograph anything and it makes the first dance way more interesting
The photo below was take at the Renaissance Worthington Hotel in Fort Worth during the couples First Dance.

When your Grand Entrance & First Dance are over you’ve just set the tone for an extraordinary wedding reception.  Now it’s off to dinner and an awesome party!

Team RRE Winner of both The Knot’s Best of Weddings 2013 and WeddingWire’s Bride’s Choice Award 2013!

So excited to announce that Randy Ro Entertainment has been awarded both Best of Weddings by the Knot and The Bride’s Choice Award  for 2013!  That means we are rated in the top 4 or 5% wedding companies in the country.  Truly something for our team to be proud of!  We work really hard (just ask some of the guys on our crew when we are doing draping and lighting for a Dallas wedding!)  We totally love what we do!  While it’s nice to be recognized for this, the ultimate recognition comes from the thank you’s we get from our couples.

Happy 4th Birthday to Piazza in the Village!

Four years ago I blogged about the wedding we’d done that night for Christine & Jonathan on WEtv’s Platinum Weddings at The Piazza in the Village.   Platinum Weddings was a show about the most expensive weddings in the world.  Their website said it was a show that “”captures the drama and decadence of wedding planning on an extraordinary budget!”  We were very fortunate to join that elite wedding vendor status.  It’s opened a great deal doors for Randy Ro Entertainment that might have not be so openable.  As I write this, I’m just thankful.   Also, a very special thank you to Alex Gorman (who was on the staff at the Piazza in the beginning) and to Amy Watts (a personal friend) who recommended me to Alex.

Another awesome thank you!

We were honored to provide MC/DJ, Videographer, Lighting Design, and Photo Booth for bride, Ashley Miller.  When her and Eugene arrived at their Marriott Renaissance Richardson Dallas Hotel reception they wanted to see the ballroom before the guests came in.  The ballroom was glowing in pink up lighting and there was a huge “M” initial on the wall behind their Cup Cake Desert bar.  Ashley’s main focus was to get into our Dallas Photo Booth right away.  Here is the picture and note she sent us on Facebook.

People are still talking about how much fun the had in the photo booth!  We thought we would add our favorite photo booth pic to your page!  Thanks again!  Can’t wait to see the wedding video!  DJ Michael was fantastic and the uplighting looked incredible.”

Photobooth = fun!

Fort Worth photo booth from Randy Ro Entertainment

This pictures shows our Dallas photo booth in action at a recent Colleyville wedding.  Sure, there are eight guests in this photo but our record is 12!  With our photo station, we can get even more in the shot.  The photo station is not quite as fun as our real photo booths but I don’t think guests care as long as they are getting their pictures taken!Nothing is hotter at a Dallas Wedding Reception than a photo booth!  Randy Ro Entertainment provides several kinds of fun event photo services through it’s Dallas photo booth service.

Texas Wedding Guide, Brides of North Texas, D WEddings, Grace Ormonde

Weddings that Fort Worth Wedding DJ, Randy Ro Entertainment is involved with are frequently featured in wedding magazines.  It’s not uncommon to see 10 featured weddings and we may have done 3 or 4 of them.  It’s also not uncommon that we don’t get mentioned in the articles.  That is usually reserved for the paid advertisers.  We are frequently mentioned and  featured in the Texas Wedding Guide, who we are partnering with for the Dream Wedding Give Away and several other projects.

It was great to see us mentioned in this “Real Wedding” on D Magazines website!   Lindsey and Ryan were married at the Robert Carr Chapel and the reception followed at The Colonial Country Club.  They selected a great team of vendors.   It was our pleasure to provide MC/DJ, Lighting, and Videography services for them.

Texas Wedding Guide photo shoot – The WOW Factor!

This stunning and surreal photo shoot for the current issue of The Texas Wedding Guide was designed by the amazing Ed Barrett at Signature Productions.  We were there for three days on the top floor of CityPlace in Dallas.  The room is a blank canvas (which is a wedding design and decor artist’s dream).  Randy Ro Entertainment added the columns around the room.  Posh brought in the most outrageous furniture you’ll ever see.  The stands are “one of a kind” brushed silver, made just for a wedding Ed & I did last summer. To get this look:
